Antique Victorian (1837-1901) marcasite oval brooch. This pretty brooch features marcasites set in sterling silver. Marcasite gemstones catch the light giving a diamond effect, throughout the ages it has been mistaken for gold and it also known as Fools Gold. The brooch is in excellent antique condition, measuring 3.2cm / 1.3" in length and 2.6cm / 1.1".
