Description: - A Victorian gold hardstone and diamond cameo brooch. The brooch is set with a hardstone cameo of a classical female, surrounded by rose cut diamonds around the perimeter, set in multi-tone gold.

As was common for the period, the brooch is unhallmarked, and has been tested and confirmed to be 15 carat gold. The pin and clasp tests as 9 carat minimum fineness.

Period: - Mid 19th Century.

Date: - Circa 1860.

Measurement: - 2.5cm (diameter) x 1.3cm (depth).

Weight: - 7.7 grams.

Condition: - Light surface wear, and minor tarnishing, and light patina to the setting commensurate with age. The cameo is in good condition, finely carved, with just minor surface wear around the edges. Gemstone treatment is unknown. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
